Good Advertising is Timeless

When I was a Cub Scout, I used to love the ads in the back of Boy’s Life Magazine. They had survival knives and dog tags, and they had go-cart plans and “sea monkeys.” And they had one that said, “See the miracle of life,” which sold you a little plastic incubator and some quail eggs to hatch in it.

But that was more than 30 years ago. Today I have some Cub Scouts of my own. And do you know what they're advertising in the back of Boy’s Life today?

Survival knives, dog tags, go-cart plans, sea monkeys… and plastic inclubators with quail eggs to hatch in it. You can still "See the miracle of life," and you can see the miracle of advertising that continues to work, decade in and decade out, never changing, always making the cash register ring.
